Building from the beach to the Sierra Nevada
Alejandro Peña grew up in Santa Marta and studied civil engineering before returning to build a construction company that could serve the full range of the region's property market.
The Minca eco-lodge boom was just beginning when SierraBuild opened in 2016. Alejandro positioned the company as specialists in sustainable mountain construction alongside coastal renovation — two specialties that no other Santa Marta contractor offered.
Eight years on, SierraBuild has 220+ completed projects from El Rodadero beachfronts to Tayrona-area eco-lodges. Both segments are thriving and so is the company.
